Notified Body

The Norwegian Railway Inspectorate has approved Scandpower as Notified Body for Rolling Stock. The approval is valid within the European Union and EØS.

Notified Bodies are authorised to verify compliance with Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) as part of the system to effectively and safely allow the interoperability of railway services within the European Union.
When an operator (owner) places an order for a new sub-system the operator has to appoint a Notified Body to verify compliance with the requirements. The Notified Body will, when all requirements are fulfilled, issue a Certificate of Conformity that the operator will use as a Declaration of Verification to the relevant Railway Authority.

The Notified Body activities in Scandpower will be managed by Manager Bjørn Arnegård. Project teams for performing technical assessments will be established using experts from the Scandpower Group and from sub-contractors when needed.
